Magnolia Brides is so honored to be a part of our client’s most treasured moments when they say “I do”. Alek and Katie had a ceremony at Forbes Farm this past month that we would like to showcase. The bride chose one of our Blanc classic designs and it fit perfectly into the overall feel and elegance of the day. Their story was something that read right out of a fairytale as was the beautiful weather and wonderful catering by Halyards Catering.

Me and the Love of My Life Beginning Our New Life!

I met the groom and love of my life in high school. The first night we hung out was my senior Homecoming Court and we had such a fun night. We started dating and then ended up doing long distance when I went off to college. Then, he moved over 1,000 miles away for college, so we dated long distance for a total of six years before he moved home and finally asked me to marry him. That was, by far, the easiest year ever!

Forbes Farm Venue on a St. Simons Island

My wedding was at Forbes Farm on St. Simons Island. It was such an amazing day. We got married on the lawn and had an indoor reception. My favorite part about the day was hearing his vows to me. He wrote them, and they were so sweet. I will never forget how I felt at that moment.

The Final Piece – The Magnolia Bride Dress

My mom planned a wedding dress shopping weekend for me in Charleston, and Magnolia Bride was one of the shops we went to. The entire experience of going to Magnolia Bride was amazing. My mom talks about how my whole demeanor shifted when we went there. I wasn’t nervous or stressed about finding the perfect dress! The whole experience at Magnolia Bride was perfect. It was truly so special.

When I Slipped it On, I Knew it Was Meant to Be!

When looking for a wedding dress, I was looking for something satin, elegant, and something I knew I’d look back on and still love. The dress I chose was actually the first dress I tried on at Magnolia Bride, and I knew it was the one when I saw it on the hanger. So did everyone else! The advice I’d give to a bride wedding dress shopping would be to slow down and soak in the whole experience. That weekend was a weekend I’ll never forget.

Words of Wedded Wisdom

My words of wedded wisdom would be to marry your best friend. It makes every day more fun. I would also say marry a man that loves to cook. It’s like I got my own personal chef when I married him. Haha!
